Fuel Solutions

Making a difference in the environment starts with driving a more fuel-efficient vehicle. The 2011 Malibu and all new Cruze, for example, both offer fuel-saving technologies. Take a look:

With an EPA estimated 33 MPG highway,1 Malibu LTZ offers highway fuel economy that a comparable Toyota Camry can't match. That means up to 528 highway miles on a single fill-up. A six-speed automatic transmission, standard on all models, helps maximize performance and fuel efficiency. Malibu engines feature Variable Valve Timing (VVT) —
a technology that optimizes combustion, enhances low-end torque and helps lower
tailpipe emissions. A 252-hp 3.6L V6 engine with dual overhead camshafts and
Variable Valve Timing is available on 2LT and LTZ and offers an EPA estimated
17 MPG city, 26 highway.

Cruze features standard six-speed transmissions, like the manual in Cruze LS, that offer an EPA estimated 26 MPG city, 36 highway. Cruze LT and LTZ have standard automatic transmissions and the small - yet powerful - 1.4L turbocharged engine. It's a performance increase that still helps Cruze offer an EPA estimated 36 MPG highway.

The 2011 Chevrolet lineup also features several other models offering an EPA estimated 30+ MPG highway, as well vehicles capable of running on E852 FlexFuel, GM-exclusive Two-Mode Hybrid technology and — arriving in select markets at the end of 20103 — the 2011 Chevrolet Volt, a range-extended electric vehicle that uses a gas generator to create its own electricity.
